This position is primarily responsible for developing and writing grant proposals to foundations and other grant-making organizations on behalf of several clients. Reporting to the CEO, the Grant Writer will assemble and submit grant requests, establish and maintain personal contact and relationships with foundation contacts, conduct prospect research and maintain a calendar of submissions and other deadlines.

Duties and Responsibilities

Developing and writing grant proposals to foundations and other grant-making organizations, persuasively communicating the organization’s mission and programs to potential funders;

  • Assembling and submitting grant requests, including letters, proposals, budgets, and presentations;
  • Establishing and maintaining personal contact and relationships with foundation contacts and program
    officers;
  • Ensuring prompt acknowledgment of foundation gifts;
  • Maintaining calendar to ensure timely submission of letters of inquiry, proposal deadlines, and repo rts;
  • Conducting prospect research;
  • Prioritizing projects to keep multiple projects moving promptly, meet deadlines and manage supplemental
    material required for proposals’

Qualifications

The successful candidate will be able to help craft funding proposals in a clear and compelling manner.

  • Excellent writing, analytical, and research skills are essential.
  • Candidates must be self-motivated, detail-oriented, and highly organized.
  • A high level of computer literacy is required.
  • Candidates must possess an ability to work well under pressure and the ability to seek and synthesize information and communicate in a compelling and succinct form.
  • A Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • Must have at least 5 years of grant writing experience.

This position is primarily responsible for assisting in developing and writing grant proposals to foundations and other grant-making organizations on behalf of several clients. The Associate Grant Specialist will assist with assembling and submitting grant requests, establish and maintain personal contact and relationships with foundation contacts, conduct prospect research and maintain a calendar of submissions and other deadlines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree required
  • 1 -2 years' experience (internships or work), ideally with a focus on writing or development
  • Excellent written communication skills including writing and editing, specifically being able to translate data into compelling writing
  • Ability to effectively and efficiently draft and copy edit written communication
  • Strong organizational and project management skills, high attention to detail, and able to handle multiple projects and tasks with shifting priorities
  • Experience and willingness to work proactively and independently
  • Eagerness to learn

Responsibilities

  • This role will assist the grant writing team with grant writing and researching on behalf of multiple clients.
  • This role is perfect for someone who has strong writing skills and exceptional attention to detail and is well organized.
  • Grant Research, Writing, and Reporting: Assist team members to support fundraising efforts, including:
    • Researching and identifying new grant opportunities
    • Researching grant and reporting requirements
    • Gathering information to help support grant writing and reporting.
    • Assisting with the writing, editing, and submitting grant proposals and applications
